There’s nothing like a good bit of fun to celebrate yet another period of success for the business. And when GForces hosted a ‘wacky races’ event to celebrate its second quarter in 2014, it was nothing like a good bit of fun! (Cue universal sighs at the quality of that joke)
Joking aside, as the video above will testify, our second quarterly update was packed full of thrills and spills as we brought the entire GForces team – local, national and international – together to take part. It wasn’t all about pedalling furiously (and in many cases, fruitlessly); prior to the races the seven teams of GForcers had to gain their place on the grid by undertaking a series of IQ-rattling tests.
Getting a marble from one end of a tube to the other, or putting together the pieces of a maze in the right order, might sound simple in principle. But when you’re up against the clock and the tasks require devilish levels of concentration, lateral thinking and sobriety, it was all rather more difficult.
The best at the pre-race tasks won time and grid advantages for the main event which involved several races, each designed to test the fitness and driving skills of GForces’ staff. As it turned out, the fitness and driving skills of some members of staff are dubious – the video playing testimony to at least one flip and several ‘racing incidents’. However, come the wavy table cloth, everyone had enjoyed the day and a few even picked up medals and best of all, a barbecue of gargantuan proportions was a great reward!
