Early July is an exciting time for the UK’s automotive industry as it waits for the results of the annual Motor Trader Awards. Taking place last night (9th July) at London’s Grosvenor House, this glittering event brought together the nation’s top performers together to celebrate all that’s good about what retailers, manufacturers and suppliers are doing to pull the trade out of the recession by its bootstraps.
Now that the sore heads, tears of happiness – or sadness – are clearing, we are pleased to report that for several of our clients the night was a successful one. Naturally, for us the Dealer Website of the Year category holds a lot of weight. The websites we build for our clients have a good record of taking this acclaimed title and with the ever-growing importance of the digital dealership, we want to keep them on top.
Dealer Website of the Year
This year, the prize was claimed by H.R. Owen for its eye-catching and content-rich site. Based on NetDirector software, HR Owen is already an award winner, but is well deserving of its continued success. The site oozes quality thanks to superb imagery and video content which elevates the visitor’s experience and the written content on the site has even been cited by the eConsultancy website as being an example of best practice. H.R. Owen’s website is a very worthy winner.
Digital Initiative of the Year
Another category which we like to see our clients win at is Digital Initiative of the Year. As far as we’re concerned, all of our clients have an acute sense of digital initiative, but it’s with great pleasure that we see Ridgeway Group claiming the prize. Using our CitNOW hardware rebranded as Workshop Window by Ridgeway, the Group offers aftersales customers the opportunity to receive a video walk-around of their car in which the technician can show any problems, or simply give a customer’s car a clean bill of health.
By operating the approach of “You see what we see”, Ridgeway has driven significant improvements in aftersales ranging from elevated CSI scores, through to positive customer feedback and – of course – growth in the amount of VHC ‘amber’ or ‘red’ work converted to sale.
This is also a great opportunity to congratulate other clients who picked up awards during the night.
Marshall Motor Group picked up a couple of awards across the categories. Marshall Taunton Audi won the Most Improved Dealership prize; Marshall Volvo Grantham won Used Car Retailer of the Year. Swindon-based T H White won Green Dealer of the Year for their efforts to reduce their environmental impact and congratulations must also be extended to Phoenix Car Company for being awarded Employer of the Year.
Just looking back at the list and credentials of our partners who have not only won, but were highly commended or even made it to the shortlist, it’s reminds us what a true pleasure it is to work with them. This sheer level of forward and creative thinking is what the industry aspires to and whilst our products and software can be the basis for a winning entry, it’s the way that they’re used which really allows them to stand out.
So well done everyone. Here’s to another successful and award-winning year.
