The Motor Trader Awards 2019 see multiple GForces clients honoured.
Last night saw the Motor Trader Awards 2019 take place at the Grosvenor House Hotel in park Lane, London. The automotive industry’s best and brightest were gathered for the event, and we were extremely pleased to see so many of our clients short-listed across multiple categories.
The Sytner Group received one of this year’s new awards – for Skills & Development. In 2018, Sytner increased the number of apprentices they recruited by 128%. With skills gaps affecting automotive more than ever, safeguarding them is essential, and it’s great to see Sytner’s efforts recognised and rewarded.
Congratulations to Croyland Car Megastore for receiving the award for Sales Team of the Year. Their service-orientated, yet fun working dynamic endeared them to the judging panel, as did the competitive level of sales and retained business the team manage to achieve.
KIA were announced as Motor Trader’s Car-maker of the Year, based on the strength of their model line-up, a proactive relationship with their dealer network, and impressive performance in their new car sales. We have been proud to support and work with KIA over the last few years, and to see them recognised as a significant presence in the sector.
Long-term GForces clients Marshall Motor Group walked away with several awards. The combination of a stunning social media presence (they achieved a reach of 60 million on Facebook, and 11 million on Twitter), and impressive referral levels (94,904 website referrals via social channels), saw them take home the Social Media award. The other two awards they received were closely linked. First, Mercedes Benz of Preston was recognised as Most Improved Dealership. Secondly, Richard Gough, Dealer Principal at Preston, was recognised for his efforts and service in transforming the business in just 18 months.
Through our partners at Codeweavers, we’ve worked several times with Santander Consumer UK, who walked away with the Finance Provider of the Year award. Congratulations to them, and we look forward to continuing to work together as we see further take up of NetDirector® Auto-e, our end-to-end ecommerce platform across the market.
Dealer Group of the Year went to Swansway Group. Whereas growth and turnover was a factor, their journey up the rankings of the UK’s top 200 dealers, from 115th to 16th, between 2004 and 2018, was also significant. Their next-generation NetDirector® Auto-e website also delivered a rise in website visitors of 17% compared to 2017, totalling 1.6 million, alongside a 30% increase in website enquiries.
Congratulations also go to another long-term GForces client, Chorley Group, who championed our NetDirector® Auto-e platform and were awarded Digital Initiative of the Year for Franchised Dealers as a result. The end-to-end sales platform enables 24/7 sales and takes the group’s digital dealerships to a nationwide audience.
We were extremely humbled to also have NetDirector® Auto-e shortlisted for the IT Innovation of the Year Award, and to come away from the night as Highly Commended. A huge congratulations to all of the winners and short-listed retailers and suppliers of the Motor Trader Awards 2019. In a challenging and highly competitive market, seeing new standards set for customer service and customer journey provision is very satisfying.
