We’re in a celebratory mood at the moment. This is because we have just seen the London Stock Exchange’s “1,000 Companies to Inspire Britain” publication – and we’re in it. In fact, we are in the top 500 of the UK’s four-million SMEs, which is a truly special place to be.
The growth of GForces, from a one-man start-up to a company with international offices and several hundred staff, has been extraordinary. For any start-up to make it through the first few years of existence is an uphill struggle, but to emerge fifteen years down the line in the shape we find ourselves, and with the growth we have experienced is testament to the hard work of the individuals who make up GForces – throughout our organisation.
To make the Top 1,000, companies have to show consistent growth over the past four years and compound annual growth rate has to be higher than the sector average. Many other financial factors are also included, but these are possibly a bit too dry to include here…
According to Xavier Rolet, CEO of the London Stock Exchange Group, “The 1,000 companies highlighted in our report have, on average, more than doubled their revenue in the last four years”
Down to the hard work and investment of time, energy and knowledge of GForces’ staff, not to mention the belief our clients have in our ability to deliver quality products and services, we are part of this top 1% of the UK’s SMEs.
It’s quite hard to write about an achievement like this without sounding boastful. As a company we really are humbled to be a part of the Top 1,000 Companies to Inspire Britain. But look at it another way; the list of companies is meant to inspire others – whether that is to start a company themselves or join one of those on the list. If just one person does this, and creates success for themselves, then that is the real boast. And it’s one that all 1,000 should be proud of.
