Fellow colleague, Daniel Rogers has always had a need for speed, starting out in karting club the Comer Cadets at the age of eight. Now eleven years later he is part of a father son team looking forward to his third season racing cars, having progressed through junior and senior karting categories.
Dan won his first 3 trophies of the year at the Mazda MX5 Championship in Anglesey, North Wales. He came in 6th, 5th and 3rd over the three races and 6th overall.
He had a good pace all weekend as the first two races were dry and the racing was as tight as ever. Race three was extremely wet but Dan’s years of karting taught him to find where the grip is. Visibility was terrible and he was glad to break free from the main pack in the early stages of the race. Although he didn’t have enough speed to close on the leaders, he was really happy to bring the car home in 3rd.
The next race in the championship will be on 31st August/1st September at Brands Hatch, Dan’s local track where he finished 2nd last year. So fingers crossed for Dan.
His race can be viewed in the following video.
