NetDirector Auto V10 – one year on

Take the populations of Canada and the USA combined and you have just over 350,000,000 people – a fair number in anyone’s book. Knowing when the highest number of users are online and interacting with a dealer website is obviously great intelligence to have as it gives dealers a head’s up as to when they need to be ready to react. According to our figures over the past 12 months, out of hours cover should be high on the wish list as most interactions occur on a Tuesday evening at around 8pm, and when it comes to the day of the month for the most enquiries, the 29th is the day to be ready (unless it’s February!). For users of live chat, however, lunch time (around 12pm) is when they’re most active.

Social media remains a really important way of keeping in touch with customers both before and after they have made a purchase. Facebook, perhaps unsurprisingly, receives a higher number of click-throughs than twitter – almost double in fact – whilst YouTube receives around a third of the engagement Facebook receives.

Finally, what kind of used car does a ‘typical’ NetDirector Auto V10 user search for?

Well most want a diesel (64%) – petrol (34%), hybrid (1%) and electric (1%) are still low on the used car priority list. Automatic is the transmission of choice and white is the favourite colour choice. Two years old and no more than 30,000 miles is preferred by most, and an estate (33%) with five doors is the most popular layout. In terms of options, the top three are sat nav, air conditioning and parking sensors.
