Ending 2013 on a high: Success at the Car Dealer Awards

Earlier this week over 400 professionals from the UK automotive industry descended on the Brewery in Central London for the annual Car Dealer Ewards and Used Car Awards ceremony, and the evening proved to be a successful one for our clients.

The website created and managed by GForces for Williams Automobiles picked up the hotly-contested ‘Franchised Dealer Website of the Year’ award over some strong competition. With over 103 years trading, Williams Automobiles has great heritage, but the family-owned business also has its eye on the future. Being recognised for this is a worthy tribute to the hard work and effort on both the teams at GForces and Williams Automotive. That the website was also commended in the Used Car Website of the Year category was an added bonus.

The glamorous evening, hosted by Mike Brewer of Wheeler Dealers fame, bought more good news for other GForces customers, who were also singled out for accolades by the judges:

  • HR Owen – Used Car Dealership Group of the Year
  • Marshalls Grantham – Used Car Dealership of the Year (Over 100 cars)
  • Best Used Car Customer Care – McCarthy Cars

GForces customers that were ‘commended’ included:

  • JCB Medway VW – Used Car Dealer Principal of the Year for David Willoughby
  • TW White Fiat – Best New Used Car Dealer of the Year
  • Grants Seat – Used Car Website of the Year (Highly Commended)
  • McCarthy Cars (Terry Troakes) – Upsales and F&I Performance of the Year (Highly Commended)

We’re extremely pleased for our clients; they were all worthy contenders for the 2013 shortlist and it’s great to see so many of them acknowledged in this way.

Aside from the Car Dealer Awards, another GForces-built site, for HR Owen, was also lauded this week, with econsultancy.com picking it out as one of 20 inspirational examples of product page copy. The website already stands out from the competition thanks to its use of dynamic content including video, imagery and 360-degree interiors. To be placed alongside global brands like Dyson and Apple by one of the web’s major digital commentators for the written continent of the site is a real achievement by all involved.

It’s a fabulous end to 2013, and very rewarding for us to have worked with so many dynamic and successful automotive businesses. Looking at our plans for 2014, it looks like we might need to build another extension for the trophy cabinet.
